To modernize the face of Ford’s Fitness Center while honoring its heritage, we revisited a 1990s-era logo the owner had long admired — a flexing wildcat that captured both the gym’s roots in Lexington, KY and its old-school bodybuilding ethos. We re-illustrated the original design with sharper lines and cleaner proportions, giving the wildcat new life as a bold mascot. The logotype was solidified with a modern, weighty typeface that balances nostalgia with professionalism. By incorporating the gym’s founding year and classic slogan, “Building Bodies Since ’81,” we created a timeless mark that pays tribute to its past while energizing its future.
Crafting a Strong Digital Presence
The new website for Ford’s Fitness Center wasn’t just a facelift — it was a functional extension of the gym’s legacy. Designed in Wix Studio with modern performance in mind, the site blends gritty, old-school aesthetics with sleek, responsive UX. Visitors are greeted by bold typography, parallax motion, and anchored calls to action that reflect the no-nonsense attitude of the gym itself. The membership structure is clearly laid out, featuring monthly, yearly, and student tiers, while interactive forms streamline signups and guest passes. From the hero section to the final scroll, the web experience echoes the gym’s motto: Building Bodies Since ’81.
